Organizing your library

Inboxt provides a small set of simple tools to help you keep your library organized as it grows.

By default, items are ordered by the date they were added. The Inbox tab shows only non-archived and non-deleted items.

Selecting items

Most organization actions in Inboxt are performed after selecting one or more items.

Depending on your device, you can select items by:

  • Clicking the checkbox on an item
  • Selecting multiple items using the checkbox at the top of the list
  • On mobile, long-pressing an item to enter selection mode

Once items are selected, available actions such as archive, delete, restore, or label appear in the action bar. The available actions may vary depending on the current view and selection.

Archiving

Archiving lets you remove items from your Inbox without deleting them.

  • Archived items do not appear in the Inbox
  • They remain accessible from the Archive view
  • Archived items can be searched using in:archive or in:all

To archive items:

  1. Select one or more items
  2. Choose the Archive action

You can unarchive items at any time by selecting them in the Archive view and choosing Restore. Unarchived items return to the Inbox or Newsletters view, depending on their type.

Trash

Deleting an item moves it to the Trash.

  • Items in the trash are automatically permanently deleted after 30 days
  • Items can be restored before this happens
  • Items can also be permanently deleted manually at any time

To delete items:

  1. Select one or more items
  2. Choose the Delete action

To restore items from the trash:

  1. Open the Trash view
  2. Select one or more items
  3. Choose Restore

Restored items return to the Inbox or Newsletters view, depending on their type.

Sorting

You can sort items by date or title, in ascending or descending order.

By default, items are sorted by date, with the newest items shown first.

Labels

Labels let you group related items across your library.

  • You can assign multiple labels to an item
  • There is no limit to the number of labels per item
  • Each account can have up to 50 labels

To add or remove labels:

  1. Select one or more items
  2. Choose the Label action
  3. Select existing labels or create a new one

Labels appear in the app’s navigation. Selecting a label shows all items with that label applied.

Searching

You can search items by title, content, or description.

For advanced filters and operators such as in:archive or in:trash, see Search.
